Household food waste is a pressing Canadian issue - often a result of forgotten groceries and poor shopping habits. Basket was created to solve this problem by helping users track expiry dates and use recipes based on what they have in their fridge. Simply scan, track, and cook!
Problem
Households are responsible for nearly half of the food that gets wasted every year in Canada, costing each home around $1,300 annually. No brand existed that made it easy for shoppers to improve their purchasing and consumption habits without adding several time-consuming steps.
Solution
A clean, aesthetic, and enticing brand that consumers are drawn to. Users scan their receipts, automatically upload and track their groceries, the app estimates when those groceries will go bad, then proposes recipes that are timely and delicious.
